Firefighter / Paramedic---- Full-Time
 

The West Peculiar Fire Protection District is currently developing a list to fill positions for any future openings for Firefighter / Paramedic.  Applicants must possess a current Missouri EMT-P license and Firefighter I certification. Applicants with Mo. State EMT-P license or EMT-P students near completion will be considered first. 


We offer a competitive salary and outstanding benefits package which includes Missouri LAGERS retirement, 457b supplemental retirement program, short term disability coverage paid at 50%, and employer paid health insurance.

Starting Pay for the position is from $32,100 plus benefits with incentives after one year for those who hold college degrees.

We operate from a “Berkley” type schedule for an average of 56 hours per week. We are looking for experienced personnel in both fire suppression and advanced level EMS transport. Minimum Qualifications for Employment:

Current Missouri licensed or Nationally Registered Paramedic

• Firefighter I certificate by the state of Missouri or Pro-Board

Educational Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements: The Firefighter/ EMT /Paramedic must be able to pass the district’s physical agility test and must actively participate in the physical fitness program.

Description of Duties:

Respond to emergency and non-emergency alarms

• Daily and weekly station and apparatus maintenance

• Basic maintenance of emergency apparatus

• Drive and operate the pump on fire apparatus

• Participate in district training and sponsored CEU program
